Meet Murphy!

Hello friends! It's me, Murphy! Also known as the Magnificent Murphy....because I am simply that...magnificent! Regular visitors to our website might have seen this gorgeous face for a while now as I've been patiently waiting with my paws crossed for my forever person to come into my life.

Whilst I'm waiting, let me tell you all about me! Well, as you might have guessed, I am a dashing Greyhound. I've retired from my busy days and hung up my racing boots and am ready and raring to swap those for a pair of comfy house slippers (metaphorically speaking!). It seems wild to think of me as a racing boy...as I really do prefer the quieter pace in life!! Don't get me wrong, I might like the odd zoomie every so often...but I'm talking a 45 second stretch before needing a 45 minute nap!

Now, being a Greyhound, there is a bit of a misconception about us folks that we need lots of space and lots of exercise. But, especially for me, that's really not the case! In fact, some days, I'd rather we didn't go for a walk at all and we stayed home instead! Having said that, I do of course enjoy getting these paws out on a good adventure. I'm a volunteer favourite here (which to me of course is no surprise) and they love whisking me off to get my paws out in the big wide world. I am quite a nosy individual...no point having such a long nose for nothing! So I love going places where I can get my long nose into lots of good sniffs. I've walked out in the farmers fields, around the village, local parks and even a shop. I've even been a lucky boy and headed out on some Greyhound walks in the hopes of finding some like-minded ladies and gents like me which was pawsome...even better when these trips end in a pup cup for good boys!

I love to meet people. Because the more people I meet the more friends I have! Don't be surprised though if when I meet you I lean in for a big ol' Murphy lean...that's my trademark! I'm also happy enough greeting dogs of all shapes and sizes out on a walk. I walk beautifully on the lead and, in all honesty, I'm simply no bother at all! I love my grub and can be enticed for a quick game or two with some toys.

I haven't experienced life in a home so all of that will be new for me. So I'll need a little help and patience learning what it's like to be part of a house and all it's wonders. I'm sure I'll ace it all in no time at all though. I think if you know and love us Greyhounds, you'll know and love me...and, well maybe even if you don't know much about us Greys...I reckon I could show you how amazing we are!!

I'll be best suited to homes without feline friends but could look to share my home with another dog. I'll be better suited to homes with slightly older children and I'll be happy enough left home alone for a few hours. If you think I could be the guy for you, then I can't wait to hear from you!
