Our NAWT Watford centre were absolutely delighted to be the winners of a competition by leading blinds retailer BlindsbyPost.

The online retailer called on people from across the region to nominate businesses, charities, schools, and other organisations that deserve to have their office space or building upgraded.

We were randomly selected from entrants across the home counties and have received £1,000 worth of motorised blinds for our dedicated staff that live on site to provide 24-hour care to the homeless animals in the centre.

Founded in 2008, BlindsbyPost is the leading expert in made-to-measure window blinds. The Yorkshire-based online retailer offers consumers a bespoke and fully online blind ordering service.

BlindsbyPost offers a full range of blinds for consumers from its ecommerce store; Roman, Venetian, Roller, Perfect Fit, Wooden, Vertical, Day & Night, Pleated, Roof, Motorised, and Metal.

We want to take the opportunity to thank everyone who nominated us, as well as BlindsbyPost, for providing us with such a special prize, as it really means a lot to all of us.

Our centre manager, Jackie de Friez, said:

“This is a fantastic gift for NAWT Hertfordshire to receive, and it will certainly give our team a boost during what has been an exceptionally busy year so far.

When you’re constantly working against the clock to make sure every homeless animal gets the medical care, training and love they need, you come to accept that things such as a good night's sleep and a restful break in the day are extremely important.

We have various priorities to tackle, and we must make sure that the little money we do have goes towards the welfare needs of the animals. These new blinds are a luxury that we wouldn’t be able to afford without the kindness and generosity of BlindsbyPost and their fantastic charity initiative.

It’s lovely that our team, who are always thinking of the animal’s needs above their own, now have something that will improve their time at work, especially those who live on-site full time. We are so grateful to be selected as the winners!"

The blinds have already been installed, and are being used, and here you can see them in action:
