Our NAWT Berkshire centre received a special visit from TikTok sensation Good Boy Ollie. At the beginning of December, they arrived with close to 2,000 gifts all donated by his loyal supporters.

The staff at Trindledown farm were delighted when Alex, Good Boy Ollie’s owner, announced back in August that she would like to help the homeless animals in our care this Christmas.

Ollie, a chocolate Labrador Retriever, went viral after Alex started posting videos on TikTok of him balancing items on his bottom. From there, he has captured the hearts of over 6 million people who now follow him on the social media platform. Alex posts regularly showing the adventures he gets up to, not to mention the special tin that he gets to pick an activity from at weekends.

Ollie’s followers were keen to buy Ollie and Tato (Ollie’s younger brother, a golden Labrador Retriever) birthday presents. Alex said as they are already so spoilt, she would like to give back to the pets in our centre instead.

Molly, the fundraising officer at our Berkshire centre, said:

“I made a list of suggestions of products we need around the site. So, Alex set up her own Wishlist that she shared with her followers, and they responded generously.”

As the appeal was such a success, Alex had many parcels arriving at her house daily. The Amazon delivery driver, also called Alex, was originally concerned by the number of parcels he had delivered to the property and was keen to find out what was going on.

After Alex and her family explained to him what the cause was for, he generously offered his spare time and his van to help bring the donations over to us!

Alex catalogued every item and organised it all for us, and said it was close to 2,000 items that had been donated. The gifts varied from food, flea and wormer treatments, leads, beds, toys, and enrichment items for different species. Plus, much more.

When the donations arrived, we were beyond excited and grateful to see the large amount that filled the van. It was certainly a moment that will never be forgotten.

After all the donations were unloaded, Good Boy Ollie went to visit the farm animals and gave out some of the gifts. It was lovely to be able to give Ollie and his owners a tour and spend some time with them.

Unfortunately, Alex the delivery driver was unable to stay afterwards, but we would like to take this opportunity to thank him for taking the time to help. We would like to welcome him back to our centre for a cup of tea on us any time! Alex and Ollie also gave him a card and some chocolates to express their thanks.

Once the tour was over for Good Boy Ollie, we treated them to lunch to show our gratitude. After they left, we wrapped up some of the presents and let the dogs unwrap them after telling them they were from Santa Paws Ollie and his followers.

Thank you so much to Alex and her family for arranging this, and an extra special thank you to all of Ollie’s followers who donated. We wish we could thank every one of you personally, as your donation is so appreciated. This has certainly lifted the spirits of not only our staff but also the homeless and abandoned animals in our care.
