Meet Millie!
Hello everyone, my name is Millie.
I am a very sweet little girl but I am a bit of a worrier and a real sensitive soul, so I am going to need understanding and patient new owners. Once you've gained my trust you will see how truly affectionate and loving I really am. I have stolen a few hearts here at the centre that's for sure!!
I find loud noises, busy places, big machinery and traffic quite frightening and you will see me tucking my tail right underneath me and wanting to get away from those scary things as quick as I can so I get very pully on my lead. Once I am away from all of that I start to relax, my body language changes and then I am much happier and can walk nicely. So this will need working on, and I am hoping to find new owners who could give me lots of reassurance and help boost my confidence.
Like I said I may appear a little shy when we first meet. Ideally I would like a home with a female in it as sometimes it takes me a little longer to feel comfortable with men, but I do get there and have lived with a male owner before. I have been such a good girl to handle here at the centre and have even been checked over by the vet with no issues. I have been around children with no issues either, but as I said I would prefer a quieter home without lots of loud noises or shouting, ideally in a more rural location.
I love my exercise and would love to have a safe garden so I can have a run and a play. I wasn't very interested in toys when I arrived here but am starting to become more playful.
I have lived a smaller dog previously, although I was a little too boisterous for that one, and I have made best pals with another Collie here at the centre so I may be able to live with another dog depending on who it is, I just seem to find bigger dogs than me a little scary.
I have got all 4 paws crossed that there is a home out there to make me feel comfortable and safe xx
