Meet Maya!

Hi all, I'm Maya, and I am a super friendly girl on the look out for a home to call my own.

I have come into the centre as a stray so my past is a mystery to the team here, but what they do know is that I am a real people dog....I want to say hello to absolutely everyone and give them lots of Maya cuddles and love. Because I enjoy human company so much, I am not going to suit a home where I am left for long periods. I like to stay close by to you, so will generally be sat by your side or even at your feet waiting for belly rubs!

I have only been here at NAWT Cornwall for a very short time but the staff are so impressed with me, and I have been thriving off all the attention, fuss and training I have been receiving. I am a very clever girl, and have responded really well to the positive reward training methods that are used here. I am now understanding that good behaviour means a tasty treat!

I am vocal, and will bark (I think I must have some German Shepherd in me), but it is all noise I assure you! I have been out walking with my doggy pals here every day and enjoy this a lot, so I may be able to live with another suitable dog or even a cat. I think I would love to live with older children as long as they are big enough to cope with my size and excitement, as I will jump up for cuddles. I have been a bit overwhelmed by heavy traffic so will need some help with this and ideally not a home that's located right next to a busy road or pavement as I will most probably bark at everyone that walks past.

I can be excitable and pully on my lead initially but can also settle quickly and do some lovely lead walking so the team here think I will be an absolute dream after a bit more training. I have been on trips out in the van and love exploring new places, so can't wait to go on the biggest adventure of all time.....that being finding my new forever home! xx
