Meet Misty!

Hello. I’m Misty, a shy Saluki girl with a big heart.

Over Christmas, the NAWT found me hiding in one of their sheds. I was cold, scared, skinny and trying very hard not to be seen. I was very brave, and let them take me inside to get warm, they gave me food and most importantly, gave me time.

At first, I was very frightened of attention. Even kind hands and gentle voices felt overwhelming. The team here never rushed me. They let me watch from a distance, learn at my own pace, and slowly build trust with my handlers. It’s taken a little time, but over the last few weeks my confidence has really started to grow and they say seeing that change has been incredible.

I’m still a sensitive soul, and I’ll need a special person to help me continue my journey. I’m looking for an owner who has patience, time, and understanding, someone who can spend quiet moments with me, helping me feel safe, loved, and secure.

I would suit a calm, peaceful home with no children and no other animals, as too much loud noise or frantic activity can be worrying for me.
I may need support, but I promise the rewards are huge. Watching me learn to trust, relax, and show my true personality has already been amazing for the team here, and I could be a truly wonderful companion for the right person.
