Meet Roxy!

Hello everyone I'm Roxy the Rottie and I am on the lookout for my forever home!

I am a very beautiful looking girl with the character to match. The team here have fallen head over heals for me and they tell my everyday how gorgeous and lovely that I am. I absolutely love people and will greet my human friends with the wiggliest bum and am even partial in giving kisses too as I just get so excited to have a fuss. Whilst I am great with people, I can get a little worried at the vets and will panic if I am being physically examined as I find it quite scary. For this reason, the team have been going some muzzle training with me to help with future vet appointments and I now love my muzzle because I have a really positive association with it :)

One thing you must know about me is that I love my walks! I love to explore and sniff and check out all the surroundings and watch whats going on around me. My friends here have even taken me offsite in the van to places like the woods, the beach and even a river walk which I have thoroughly enjoyed!! I walk beautifully on the lead, a real delight to have out on walks actually and I will be a great adventure buddy who will be delighted to accompany you on future adventures. I do prefer quieter walks though as I can be hit and miss with other dogs and I don't do too well with off lead dogs rushing up to me and invading my space. The team here have hugely developed my confidence in walking around other dogs and although I still prefer to keep my distance, I am making really good progress... It helps I love praise and treats so this is helping a lot with my training.

I am very food driven as you have probably worked out, but you should know that I do guard my food bowl and I much prefer to have my own space whilst I am eating! The team here will be able to explain how we have made progress in helping me feel more comfortable around food times and the management needed in the home and of course they will be able to answer any questions you may have. Because of this, even though I have been around children previously, an adult only home or older teenage children would be best for me just so that everyone can be on board with my feeding routine.

Although I have lived with another dog before, the team here think I may prefer to be the only dog, however they have said that they will consider applications where there are other dogs depending on the home set up in order to manage my food bowl guarding but I can not live with cats unfortunately.

If you are interested in offering me a home, please to register your interest! I really hope there is a special home out there for a big beautiful girl like me xx
