NAWT Pet Support - Clacton Community

New Services to Support Clacton Pets in Need

Although we no longer have a physical centre to operate from, we want to keep doing what we do best; being there when pets and their owners need us most, growing our reach and improving our services so we can help even more local pets and owners. We know many of the challenges facing this community because we have been part of it for so long, and we are committed to remaining that reliable support you have always been able to count on.

Our focus is now on PREVENTION. We want to offer support before difficulties become crises, so that no owner ever has to face the heartbreaking decision to give up their dog or cat because they are struggling, facing financial hardship, or simply need a bit of help. We believe every pet deserves to stay safe, happy, and loved in their own home, alongside the people who know and love them most.

Our new name reflects exactly what we plan to do: providing direct support to pets and the people who love them, right here in the Clacton community.

Introducing our new Community Liaison Officer (CLO)

My name is Lisa Pinto, and I am your dedicated Community Liaison Officer. My role is to be the bridge between our services and you, working within the local community to ensure help, advice, and practical support for your pets is always within easy reach.

We have been busy building various partnerships across the area, including working closely with Clacton Food Bank and other local organisations. By working together, we can reach more people and pets, ensuring no one gets left behind. We will also be supporting the Food Bank by collecting pet food and supplies alongside our own donations, helping both people and animals in need.

What we Hope to Offer

Community Outreach and Drop-ins

We will be running regular drop‑in sessions at various locations across Clacton and the surrounding areas. This is where you can come and collect pet food and supplies, meet us face‑to‑face, have a chat, ask questions, or access support close to where you live — no need to travel far. Whether you are facing a temporary struggle or long‑term difficulty, we are here to make sure your pet never goes without the food and comfort they deserve. This is the heart of what we do; keeping pets and families together.

Pet Health & Wellbeing Campaigns

These will be organised sessions offering low cost or potentially even free microchipping, vaccinations and flea & worming treatments. Support will be available for those who need it no matter ages or circumstances. This could include support for anyone who needs a little extra support to keep their beloved pets in good health, such as transport for taking their pet for vet check-ups.

Financial Assistance

Where finance is the barrier to key veterinary services like neutering, vaccinations or health checks, we will be looking to set up a system with local vets where we are able to offer a way of helping with the costs and therefore keeping your pet healthy and in its loving home.

How You Can Help

We will be looking to build a network of volunteers to help us expand our services and help as many people and pets as possible. There are lots of ways you will be able to support our work:

Donations of Pet Food and Essentials

To keep our Pet Food & Supply Service fully stocked and available for everyone who needs it, we urgently need donations of all types of pet food (wet & dry), treats, and everyday essentials. Every single item donated goes straight out to a local pet or owner in crisis. Please continue to donate generously, your kindness keeps pets fed, happy, and in their loving homes.

More Donation Box Locations

We are actively looking for new venues, shops, businesses, supermarkets, or community spaces where we can site our food and goods donation boxes. The more boxes we have, the more donations we can collect, and the more animals we can help. If you have space, or know of a location that would be suitable, please get in touch with me directly. These collection points are critical to our work, without them, we simply cannot keep our drop‑ins stocked.

Transport Volunteers

Friendly, reliable people to help at drop‑ins and events. This might include collecting & distributing donations, or transporting elderly people and their pets to essential veterinary appointments.

Sponsors & Business Partners

Do you run or know of local companies who would like to support our work, fund vital services, or partner with us?

Donors

Whether a one‑off donation or a regular monthly gift, every contribution helps us keep pets and owners together.

If you would like to get involved, offer support, host a donation box, or find out more about how we can help you or someone you know, please get in touch:
