About me

Hello everyone, my name is Toby and I'm a year old Cocker Spaniel X Basset Hound. I'm a cheeky chap with seemingly endless supplies of energy! I will need new owners with experience owning high energy breeds like hounds or working spaniels who will understand how to engage with me and channel my energy in a positive direction. I'm described by the team as a boisterous puppy in a big dogs body - I love to have fun and can turn any situation into a game to amuse myself, it's important my new owners understand I need the balance of having boundaries and structure alongside the freedom to be a young dog. Although I come across as very confident and outgoing, I do have a very nervous side to me and get easily spooked/worried by things that might seem very normal to my humans. I will need to be rehomed with a well balanced resident dog as I gain confidence from being in their company in situations that frighten me and get a large amount of security from being with another dog that I simply cannot get from humans alone. The team tell me I'm a very intelligent boy and work really well for a food reward as I do love a tasty treat! I can still get over excited easily, but I'm coming on leaps and bounds with the training I've started and I'd love to go to a home where my new owners had time for fun activities like cani-cross or scent work!  Overall I'm looking for an active new home where I can go on lots of adventures with my new humans, have fun and put my brain to good use!
