About me

Please meet Gunner,

Gunner is a 5 year old Staffie x Ridgeback. He first came into our care because his owner was expecting a baby. Since then Gunner has been rehomed and returned due to a behavioural issue. We are now looking for a very experienced owner to offer Gunner his forever home.

While in our care, Gunner has always been a very sweet, affectionate boy with the most kind, caring nature. Everyone who meets him quickly falls in love with him and him with them. He is a big cuddle monster who loves nothing more than fuss, attention and food! However, after rehoming him it became apparent that although he was very kind and loving towards his new owners, he was very uncomfortable and reactive towards other people entering the house. He appears very protective over his home and the people he loves. Gunner will need an owner who has experience with dogs with this behavioural issue and we would strongly advise his new owner to work alongside a behaviourist to help Gunner overcome this issue.

Gunner loves treats and will do anything for them, which helps when it comes to training him. Not only will he need training around his reaction towards people entering his home, Gunner also needs practise with his lead walk training as he is known to pull on the lead when he gets excited, and he will also need some more dog socialisation training as he can be reactive towards other dogs. He already knew many commands when he first came into our care such as sit, paw and bed. He has enjoyed learning new things while he has been in our care and he hopes his new owner will continue his training in his new home.

Gunner needs an adult only home with no other pets so he could have all of the attention to himself.

If you could provide Gunner with the home he is looking for or you would like more information, please contact reception.
