Hello, my name is Rudy and I am a 5 year old Boxer. I am quite young to be here at Trindledown farm as they normally accept older dogs but being a rather special case and during this difficult time they agreed to help me. I am seeking a special home with an experienced dog owner.
Since arriving here at Trindledown the team have been working hard to socialise me with people, this is something I really struggle with and can react in fearful situations and become quite defensive which has led me to bite on a couple of occasions. I would need an owner who has managed large reactive/ fearful dogs previously. The great news is once I am comfortable around you we will be the best of friends and cuddles are certainly a must! I really do have a wonderful personality once you get to know me, the staff tell me I have a lot of fans around here.
As you may know Boxers are a strong, intelligent breed who need plenty of mental stimulation as well as exercise. My exercise time is my favourite time of the day, chasing a ball in the big dog run is just the best. The staff tell me I have great focus and I really do enjoy my training. This is something my new owner will need to continue.
Having lived with a dog previously, I would ideally live with a very calm female dog whom I could gain confidence from, subject to successful introductions. Rudy being a boxer does play rough, so any exsisiting dog needs to be high energy and enjoy rough play. We would be prioritising homes with another dog.
