About me

Hi, I'm Diesel, a very handsome 3 year old Jack Russell Terrier. I'm looking for new owners who have experience owning nervous rescue terriers. I am very wary meeting new people so any potential owner will need to be prepared to do lots of visits at the centre to establish a good bond with me and understand that the rehoming process will take that little bit longer. Due to my nervousness around new people I will need to be muzzled when out and about in public and walks in quiet areas would be best. Once I have built up trust with someone I can be a sweet, affectionate boy who loves to play ball and go for nice walks (as long as I don't get my paws too dirty!). Unfortunately I've had lots of homes already which has been very confusing for me so it's important that my new owners have lots of time and patience as it may take me time to settle and for my real character to come out. I can become protective over people once I have built up a bond and for this reason I'd love a quiet, adult only home with no visiting children and minimal visitors. I do need to continue working on my social skills with other dogs as I can be vocal when I see dogs on my walks but my friends think I could possibly live with a calm, female dog of similar size if meets went ok. I am unable to live with cats or small furries because of my strong hunting instincts. Due to the large amount of visits needed at the centre and prospective home visits required by any potential owner as part of the adoption process, plus follow up visits and support once rehomed Diesel will need to be rehomed locally.
