About me

Hi everyone, my name's Dillon and I'm an 8 year old Lurcher. Many of you may recognise me as I've been at the centre for a very long time now, just over a year in fact, and my friends really can't understand why someone hasn't come along and fallen in love with me as they say I'm the sweetest boy going! I'm described by my friends as vibrant, playful and extremely loving, I absolutely love having lots of cuddles and snuggles with my friends!

Unfortunately I wasn't socialised with other dogs as a youngster so my friends here have worked super hard with me to make walks more enjoyable for me and any potential new owner. I am now muzzle trained and wear my muzzle when I'm out on my walks, this is to make things safer for me and is a heads up to other dog owners that I'm not always dog friendly. I'm incredibly intelligent and my friends say I've come on leaps and bounds with my training - I'm now able to sit and focus on a tasty treat whilst letting other dogs walk by and I have even made friends with some lovely lurcher ladies that I now go for walks with.  It's important my new owners have the experience to continue my socialising and positive reward based training in order for me to feel relaxed  and so that myself and my new paw-rents can have lots of lovely walks together.

My ideal home would be somewhere in a rural location where I can enjoy lots of quiet time, and I'd love a nice secure garden where I have room to run and play with my toys (this is super important as I absolutely love my toys, playtime is my favourite, there are so many fun toys but I love big soft toys and squeakies the most!). Despite being a slightly older boy I still love zooming around and playing, although my legs can get a little stiff after too much running - even more reason for me to find a home and a cosy sofa to snuggle up on at the end of the day!

I have lots of love to give someone, I promise my new humans will never be short of affection from me.
