Hi there! My name is Barney and I am an eight-year-old crossbreed. I am roughly staffie sized with a wire terrier type coat. I came in with Fred as our previous owner was no longer able to care for us. I could be homed on my own or with him if someone wanted to take us both on.
I've been described as a lovely lad who craves any affection that is on offer! I walk fairly well on the lead but I am quite keen and can be very enthusiastic so occasionally need reminding! I love my food and this had been a great motivator for me to learn new things.
In my previous home I lived in an outside kennel so I need a patient owner that's happy to put the work in and remind me of house etiquette. I have been working hard on my crate training so I can use one in my new home. I can get a little anxious when left so will need this built up. I can also get worried sometimes with any vet handling that needs doing with me but the staff say I just need patient handling. I'm a very good boy who just wants to be your best friend!
I am looking for a home with no other pets (unless you wanted to take on my friend, Fred, too). I could live with older, sensible children who will handle me gently. It is important that I find someone with a secure garden so that I can enjoy playing with all of my toys!
