About me

Hi my name is Zakie and I'm a handsome Staffie boy born in 2012. Sadly I've been in kennels a little while but now I'm ready to find my forever home!

I'm a clever chap who has learnt a lot since coming to Heavens Gate. I'd love to show you all of my tricks! I've come a long way in regards to meeting new people but I'm still a dog that takes some time to gain your trust. You would need to be happy making several trips to the centre to get to know me before I was happy and comfortable enough to be handled by you. With my handlers I'm affectionate and they say I would make a loyal and fun companion.

I love to go out on adventures in the centre van. I can get worried around other dogs and much prefer to have my own space. My handlers have built up my confidence walking around calm dogs and I've been told I'm doing really well. I'm still a dog that appreciates the quieter walking areas though and I certainly wouldn't want to visit any doggy hotspots!

Toys are amazing and I love to play ball games! Other toys are great too and I love to run around the paddocks with a raggy toy or anything other toys that I can get my snout on! I've even tried my paws at agility training - as long as there is food and toys involved I'm very enthusiastic and a quick learner!

I'm looking for an experienced new owner who is happy to take their time getting to know me and is happy to continue my ongoing training. My new home must be quiet with little coming and going and will ideally be in a peaceful location. I would be best suited to an adult only home and I would prefer to be the only pet in the household.
