Hello, my name is Paddy. I am a very handsome male Beagle and I was born in May 2006. I have been at the centre waiting for my new home for a while now and I hope someone special comes along soon.
I am quite an aloof fella and it takes me time to get to know new people. As it can take me a while to trust someone unfamiliar to me, I need my potential adopter to visit me a considerable number of times here at the centre, before I would be happy to go home. Someone who will not be to "hands on" would suit me, as I do like my own space, and I will choose to come to you when I want a little affection or a scratch! During your visits to me, we could form a relationship, and my carers can tell you all about me! If you have the time and patience to get to know me, you will be rewarded with a fantastic, loyal companion.
Though I am a little older, I still need to go out for a couple of walks a day. I am pretty energetic for my age and love a run around. I love going in the car for adventures, though I can vocalise my happiness through howling! I also love to play with my toys; I have a fantastic retrieve and will play a game of fetch with you quite happily!
In my previous home, I was used to company throughout the day, so I would certainly benefit and appreciate having someone around for as much of the day as possible. I need a new adult only home that is quiet, with very few visitors. I could possibly live with another dog that is laid back and calm, but it would depend on how we get along here at the centre first.
