Hi my name is Monty and I am an 11 year old Male African Grey Parrot.
Sadly my owner was unwell and unable to care for me so I was signed over to the Charity.
Now that I’ve been here a little while, the staff are learning all my tricks and quirks, especially how chatty I am. When someone leaves the room you can hear me say “See ya later”, “Bye”, or “You Wot?”. As you can imagine I’m a favourite among the staff. I like to spend my time talking and mimicking voices, since arriving at Trindledown I’ve learnt how to imitate the other birds, the staff radios, and even the sound of a reversing lorry.
African Grey parrots can have very long lifespans, up to 93 years old! Meaning I’m very much still a youngster. Here at the centre I have an indoor cage to sleep in at night and I spend the days out here in my aviary where I have a good view of all the comings and goings. I would like to have a similar set up in my new home. Human company is very important for parrots so ideally I am seeking a home where someone is around most of the day. I am not so keen on men so my main carer would need to be female. Whilst I am happy to step up onto your arm , I have been known to bite! So an experienced parrot owner is a must.
Do you have that special home for me?
