Meet Leo!

Hello, I’m Leo, I came to the centre as a stray and I can’t wait to find a home to call my own.

I’m a bit of a nervous boy and I get worried about new experiences where I feel unsure of things. I hope I can find an owner who will have the patience to help me build up my confidence and show me all the wonderful things about life I have been missing out on so far. I can be a little wary of men, but with time and patience I have learnt to trust some of the male members of staff at the centre. Once I do start to form a bond with someone, I can be very loving and I show a whole different side to my personality.

I’m a very clever boy and I love learning new things. So far, I’ve learnt how to sit, give paw and touch and I can’t wait to learn more things with my new family - especially if it means I get a tasty treat!

I made friends with some of the other lurchers at the centre so I think I might enjoy living with another sighthound, but we would have to meet a few times to check we’re a good match. I wouldn't be able to live with any smaller breeds of dog due to my prey drive. Which also means I can't live with cats or other small furries either, as it is just to tempting to chase them!

I will need to live in an adult only home or with older teens that know how to respect my space. I would love a home with a nice garden for me to run around in. I do struggle with some separation anxiety, so I would love to go to a family that is home the majority of the time so that they slowly build up my confidence with being left.

If you have space in your heart to help a shy boy like me, please apply today.
