Meet Penny!

Hi all, my name is Penny and I'm a female Jack Russell Terrier.
I came into the centre as a stray back in June and it was clear to see that I had been used for breeding. The team very quickly arranged for me to see the vet for neutering and I also had 23 teeth removed (this does not affect my eating at all - in fact I love my food!). Unfortunately the vet also found that I had a couple of mammary masses so I had to wait and recover before I could have further surgery to remove those.
Roll on 4 months, and I have now had the other op and had the masses removed, and I have recovered really well, so now it's time for me to find my forever home!
The team here think I am about 10 years of age and am showing signs of some vison and hearing loss but don't let that fool you, I am very much full of life and a real little character.
I am a very friendly sweet girl - I love everyone and despite being a slightly more mature lady I am full of fun and energy who loves playing with my toys - anything squeaky or soft teddies are my favourite, so much so, I can get a bit possessive over them and not want to give them up which is why I need to be the only pet in the home and ideally not with children as I wouldn't know which are their toys or mine. I love human company so wouldn't want to be left for long periods. I walk lovely on the lead most of the time but can be very vocal and pull on the lead when I see other dogs so a quieter more rural location would be great for me. I would also love a garden where I could sniff to my hearts content.
I really do hope there is a family out there for me as I have so much love to give and I have been through so much - see you soon I hope x
