About the role:

Chief Executive opportunities like this don’t come around very often.  Due to the retirement of our current CEO, we are looking for an innovative and inspirational Chief Executive.

We are looking for a successful leader and strategic thinker who understands all aspects of running a charity, with a particular focus on income generation, finance and marketing.

You will need to be especially skilled at building great working relationships and have the resilience and strength of character to take NAWT to the next level.

About you:

The ideal person for this Chief Executive position will have a successful proven track record of leadership, development of senior teams. Key skills required for this role include;

   -  Proven skills in business development and income generation

   -  Ability to manage conflicting and changing priorities

   -  Taking decisive action where necessary and demonstrate sound judgement

We are looking for an energetic, proactive and self-motivated individual. You will be able to build excellent working relationships and be an inspirational leader. Empathy for animal welfare is also essential.

Experience at CEO or Deputy level would be advantageous, as would knowledge of charities, fundraising and marketing.

About our organisation:

We were established in 1971 as a charity to rescue dogs destined to be used in laboratories. The remit quickly widened to rescue and providing care and shelter for stray, neglected and unwanted animals of all kinds, and to find suitable homes for any such animals.

The charity has grown to the organisation it is today with five rehoming centres and three shops across the South of England. In more recent times, the rescue and rehoming sector has changed significantly with wider use of the internet, and that, coupled with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, means that organisations like ours need to adapt to survive.
