Centre Manager - NAWT Bedfordshire

Closing Date:
9th August, 2021
Bedfordshire Centre
Job Type:

At the National Animal Welfare Trust, we never stop caring for our animals and people.  As a rescue and rehoming charity, operating five rehoming centres and three shops across the south of England, we are committed to improving the lives of the UK’s pets, helping around 1,500 animals each year.

NAWT Bedfordshire centre is in the initial stages of an exciting major redevelopment project to construct a contemporary animal welfare facility. The manager will be a vital member of the project team, helping to develop plans and implement new ways of working to increase the amount of animals and pet owners we care for in the community.

The facilities at the current centre are dated and require a significant amount work and investment to achieve our ambitious vison of a modern homing centre. This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate individual to develop a homing operation and continue to improve the welfare of many more animals in the area.

  • To lead and inspire the team to preform to an exceptionally high standard, ensuring processes are in place to improve the welfare of all animals that require our assistance.
  • To develop and implement ways of working to ensure all resources are managed effectively and efficiently.
  • To oversee the intake, assessment, promotion and re-homing procedures for all animals admitted into NAWT care.
  • To ensure, in conjunction with the veterinary practice, each animal receives appropriate veterinary care and that all treatment plans and prevention protocols are implemented in accordance with veterinary advice.
  • To be an active and important part of the redevelopment project team, contributing to the future plans of the centre and the organisation.
  • To manage the centre’s income and expenditure budgets.
  • To ensure that all Health & Safety legislation is adhered to and risk assessments are carried out regularly.

About you:
