Unlucky in love? These gorgeous cats just need a chance this Friday the 13th

This Friday the 13th, we’re hoping you’ll put aside your superstitions and consider opening your home to a black cat.

Across our centres black or black and white cats and kittens are constantly overlooked because they’re branded ‘unlucky’ - but we know them not to be!

In our Hertfordshire centre alone we have five black cats all waiting for a forever home, and across the NAWT we have 15!

Earlier this year we published a blog post about why black cats are overlooked, could it be simply down to the superstition? Or maybe it’s because their features are less distinct, or even that their teeth look whiter and more prominent than in other coat colours? Or the myth that black coated pets don't photograph well?

Black or black and white kittens are also usually the last of a litter to be homed and we just can’t think why.

This Friday the 13th we invite you to make your own decision about black cats! Our gorgeous feline friends are waiting for you to meet them.
