Many animals, like me, arrive at a NAWT centre in urgent need of veterinary treatment, and then require extensive on-going care before we can be rehomed. The lovely folk at NAWT always put our welfare first, but medical treatment can be very expensive.
However, young Cherry had a problem; she was heavily pregnant with four extremely large puppies, in comparison to her size. There was absolutely no way Cherry or the puppies were going to survive the full pregnancy; it would have killed all five of them. Unfortunately, Cherry’s pregnancy had to be terminated in order to save at least one life.
