Shocked by the extreme decision to destroy an otherwise healthy young Bulldog, the vet got in touch with NAWT to see if anything could be done to save this beautiful girl’s life and cure her painful condition.
Minnie’s knees were sat outside of their sockets, causing her severe discomfort and limited mobility. Sadly, this had been allowed to continue for quite some time before she came to the vets and as a heavy-set dog, it cascaded into further problems including acute arthritis that she is likely to have to live with for the rest of her life.
Despite the pain she had endured, Minnie arrived at NAWT as a remarkably friendly and cuddly dog who simply adored people. She was incredibly trusting and was quick to demonstrate that she was at her happiest when enjoying a big cuddle and being showered in affection – she was a big softy!
When Minnie’s story was shared, you leapt to her rescue and cured her of the painful condition that she had been suffering with for so long. It wasn’t just the operations that changed her life; thanks to you, Minnie’s ongoing pain could be managed effectively with medication that helped her to regain her mobility and enjoy a pain-free existence for the first time in a long time.
Without your incredible support, which keeps charities like NAWT running, Minnie would have simply been euthanized and forgotten about, despite having so much life ahead of her and so much love to give. You saved her life, took away her pain and ensured that she could never again be used as a breeding machine to make money for greedy, unscrupulous breeders.
Because of you, Minnie is now in a wonderful loving home, where the unconditional love she so freely gives to those around her, is returned in abundance. Because of you, she is alive and she is happy.
