As a charity who receives no government funding, the support and donations from our supporters allow us to continue to provide a safe place for abandoned and unwanted animals and give them the care and rehabilitation they need and help them get a new start in life.
Mortgage broker Loans Warehouse, a supporter of our Watford centre, took on a huge challenge to run 653 miles in order to raise money to sponsor a kennel block at our Watford centre.
Matt Tristram, Co-Founder and Director at Loans Warehouse and his team of 45 set up a treadmill in their offices to cover the distance and raise money.
Matt said: “We wanted to do something positive, we had staff taking things to a new level and soon enough we had competition for the quickest mile, furthest distance within 10 minutes and the total level of distance covered across the month.
“We had friends and colleagues from businesses we’ve worked at for years, new employees and even representatives from competitors coming in to contribute in miles for us. We were very grateful for the support.
“It was all worthwhile to be able to hand over a cheque for £2,000 which will help look after our four-legged friends until they find their forever home.”
Tania Cragg, Supporter Relationship Officer at our Watford branch added: “This huge sum of money will go so far.
“Loans Warehouse decided to sponsor a kennel block at our A41 centre, so it will help us pay for food, heating and medical treatment the animals need during their time with us.
“On behalf of our team I’d like to say a huge thank you to Matt and all his staff for their generous support and donation.”
All the money raised for the charity will directly support the dogs in the sponsored block. Luna, Harvey, Lady and Honey, a four-year-old terrier who was an abandoned stray will greatly benefit from this generous donation."
