Help dogs like Molly who was heavily pregnant with nowhere to go this #GivingTuesday

Gorgeous black and white Staffordshire bull terrier mix Molly arrived at NAWT after her previous owner found out she was pregnant.

A gentle soul with a lovely nature, Molly entered motherhood unaware of what was to come and confused by her new surroundings.

Arriving with us just a few weeks before she was due to give birth, the animal carers quickly got to work putting together a temporary ‘puppy room’ where Molly could prepare for her special arrivals.

The room was stocked with blankets, heat pads and enough room so the new mum could wander and find the perfect spot to deliver her eight puppies.

Molly eventually gave birth to five healthy boys and three girls. Thankfully, all of the puppies survived and following a difficult and exhausting birth, Molly proved herself to be a fantastic mum, who required just a little support in the first few days following the labour until she was strong enough to look after all of the puppies by herself.

Molly and her puppies spent the next eight weeks in our care until they were ready to head off to loving new homes. Even Molly herself was snapped up by a loving family very quickly and all nine dogs are doing fantastically well in happy homes.

Without your incredible support of NAWT, Molly might have been left with nowhere to go during that scary period of her life and who knows what might have happened to her eight beautiful pups. Thanks to you, we don’t need to think about that and we can continue to offer shelter and refuge to homeless and abandoned animals in their time of need.

To make your donation go even further for animals like Molly and her pups this Christmas, please support our project on The Big Give, where every donation received between 12pm TODAY and 12pm on 4th December will be doubled at no further cost to you. Give here!
