The first few days in a rescue centre are quite overwhelming for most dogs, as they start to adapt to life in a new environment. Dogs like Socks, who came to us as a stray, frightened and cowering, unsure of his new surroundings and people.
All new arrivals will have a short stay in the dog admission kennels, quarantined from the rest of the resident animals until our team can fully assess the dogs' welfare needs. They must also ensure that new arrivals aren't carrying any illnesses that could be passed to the other animals at the centre.
You can make a difference to animals like Socks and the well-being of all the newcomers to our Hertfordshire centre, by helping to fund a new kennel block.
Because some of the kennels are now beyond repair, the number of dogs we can help is restricted, so we need to act fast.
Your support can provide 12 new kennels, plus training and exercise areas for the new arrivals, meaning more dogs can be helped to find their new loving homes.
Phase 1 is to fund the design and planning of these much-needed new facilities, as well as the demolition of the existing buildings, ready to start the exciting new build for the unwanted dogs that desperately need your help.
Please give what you can today to offer homeless dogs the bright future filled with the love that they deserve. The new arrivals will thank you thousands of times over.
