Meet Tommy!

Hi there! I’m Tommy, nicknamed Tommy the Tank Engine, and I’m always ready for adventures!!

I’m a 9-year-old Jack Russell, but don’t be put off by my age, there’s still plenty of life left in this tank! For you eagle-eyed supporters, you may recognise me as this isn’t my first time here. My current owners sadly need to find a new home for me as despite my loving and excitable nature, I can get a bit over-whelmed when I see other dogs. They feel I need a home with someone a bit more experienced who will be able to teach me that other dogs are okay and there’s no need to shout so loudly when I see them coming! Unfortunately, you won't be able to see my handsome face when you drop by the centre as my current owners felt it was best for me to stay in my familiar space whilst the search continues for my new home!

My current owners have been working hard on my training, so I’ll need my new owners to continue to work on this with me please. Don’t worry though, as I’m highly motivated by treats and toys (and maybe a cuddle or two!)

In terms of the type of home I’m looking for, it is believed that I could live with other dogs with the right introductions, but I’m very excitable as I’ve not seen many before so will likely need some help to work on calmly greeting my fellow pooches. I find cats far too exciting I’m afraid, so sadly I will have to pass on living with one. Kids is a bit of a question mark; I have met some small humans before and enjoyed their company, but they would need to be dog-savvy and calm.

I haven’t had the easiest start to life but I’m such a happy chappie and my owners are always telling me how lovely I am and what a good boy I am at home! I’m just a sweet, loveable, bowling ball of a character – could I be the one for you?
