Volunteers Week  - Day 5: NAWT Clacton say thank you!

We are now on day 5 of volunteers’ week 2023, and if you have been following our socials you will have seen that we are talking about all things volunteering, and sharing an insight into what some of our volunteers get up to.

However, we have also been taking the time to give our volunteers one big thank you for all their hard work, as we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without them.

On Saturday, our NAWT Clacton centre welcomed around 16-20 volunteers to do exactly that, and even invited their new recruits who will be starting over the next couple of months, which gave them a chance to meet everyone. This also enabled them to ask any questions and find out any information on what volunteering at our centre entails.

There was a small buffet with afternoon tea, followed by a quiz that was kindly put together by Tracey, a NAWT Clacton member of staff, on the history of NAWT. The answers could be found around the centre, by reading our volunteer handbook, and by asking questions to our volunteers who do different things.

It was a very relaxed and fun couple of hours, and luckily the sun was shining! It was nice to spend some one-on-one time with the volunteers in such a relaxed atmosphere, giving everyone the opportunity to get to know one another a bit more. Some of our volunteers even took the time to leave some feedback which included:

“It was lovely to meet like-minded people and contribute towards an amazing cause”.

“I like to feel I’m making a difference and enjoy meeting people and being part of a team”.

“I enjoy the routine and purpose after retirement”.

Thank you so much to our NAWT Clacton volunteers for all your hard work, we appreciate everything you do for us. We hope you had a wonderful afternoon!
