Pick up the latest issue of the UK’s biggest selling cat magazine and you will find a four-page feature on National Animal Welfare Trust’s Open Paw for Cats scheme.
Journalist Rachel Armitage and photographer Graham Warren visited our Hertfordshire Centre last month to meet CEO Clare Williams, centre manager Jackie de Friez, animal carers James Batchelor, James Brumby and Shirkara North as well as volunteers Alan Robnett and Paula Freedman.
Of course the real stars of the show were the cats as Marbles, Missy, Hoot and kittens Dancer and Comet ably demonstrated the different levels of training they now receive as Open Paw cats.
Your Cat also consulted behaviourist and trainer Jo Rosie Haffenden, presenter of Rescue Dog to Super Dog and Teach My Pet, for her opinion of the scheme. She said: “It was just brilliant to see relaxed cats in what is usually a very stressful environment.”
Your Cat is available in all good newsagents on March 15.
