NAWT Named Burns Pet Nutrition’s Charity of the Year 2017

20th October, 2016

Pet food company Burns Pet Nutrition have selected the National Animal Welfare Trust as their Charity of the Year for 2017!

In addition to receiving an annual supply of food our dogs and cats, as well as hay for the rabbits in our care, the Trust will work closely with Burns over the coming months, collaborating on joint fundraising and promotional opportunities.

The decision to select NAWT as Charity of the Year was driven largely by our work implementing the Open Paw behavioural programme.

Founder of the pet food company, John Burns said:

“There are so many charities out there doing wonderful things for animal welfare so it was a very hard choice. What appealed to us was The National Animal Welfare Trust’s dedication to animal welfare, particularly through its ground breaking Open Paw programme.”

Veterinary Surgeon John established the business in 1993 after seeing the same pet health ailments occur repeatedly at his practice. Research indicated that a poor quality diet was to blame so John created nutritious products which enable the body to function naturally.

At NAWT we understand the importance of quality pet nutrition and are thrilled to be working alongside the pet food company over the next year.
