Rehoming moments captured at NAWT’s Hertfordshire rescue centre will soon form the stories shown in Petplan’s new advert for their sponsorship of Channel 4’s new show Animal Rescue Live: Supervet Special.
Two film crews spent the day capturing heartwarming moments of pets being taken home for the first time by their new owners.
Among the rehoming tales was one-eyed Max, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, who was leaving Watford after waiting for the right home for more than four years.
The stories captured on film reflect some of the every day issues that come up in the rescue world such as lurchers and bull breeds, rehoming to older people and black-coated animals.
Pets still waiting for homes were also filmed such as Jessie the Beagle who demonstrated her skills on the agility course.
Petplan’s logo will appear on the idents filmed at the Watford centre at the beginning of the show, and at the beginning of the ad break.
The show is being aired live on five consecutive days from Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter.
Petplan has been a long-standing partner of the NAWT, helping the charity to raise nearly £500,000 in donations by offering the owners of every animal that goes home four weeks free pet insurance and donating a commission on any policies that are then taken out.
Earlier this year Petplan sponsored the equipment and food bowls for NAWT’s Open Paw for Cats programme, the only training scheme of its kind in the UK that offers people the chance to interact with the animals.
