Meet Max!

Hello, I’m Max, a 1 year old chihuahua looking for my new home.

I’m a friendly little boy who loves to have all the cuddles and attention that my favourite humans can possibly give me. I can’t think of anything I would rather do than snuggle up to you on the sofa and fall asleep on your lap. If I’m not relaxing and snoozing the day way, I love to let my silly side show. I’ve not fully learnt how to play with toys properly yet, but I’m hoping that’s something my new owner will teach me. At the moment, my idea of fun is rolling around the sofa like a wiggly worm which my friends here tell me is very funny! Something else I am looking forward to learning in my new home, is some more basic training as I’ve only just started working on that here. It will need to continue in my new home using positive, reward based methods. The good news is I love tasty treats so I’ll always pay attention if you have a handful of those!

Although I’m a friendly boy, I can be nervous of new people when I first meet them, and at the moment I find men particularly worrying, so my new family will need to be patient and understanding so we can get to know each other slowly. If there are any children in my new home, they will need to be old enough to understand when I am feeling nervous or worried and give me some space when I need it. I don’t mind living with cats and I might be able to live with another dog, if we meet at the centre first to see how we get on.
